Outside. With Friends.

That pretty much sums up our life right now!

First Field Trip

What a hit this trip was!  Who doesn’t love a trip to the neighborhood fire station?

It was a short walk with plenty of chaperones:

The fire truck was out of service, but there was lots to see and do:

All in all, a good time.  Thanks, Brookland Fire Station!

Happy Easter!

I think we’re all still recovering from a terrific weekend.  The highlight was, as always, the Easter Vigil hosted by our family of RenewDC churches.  Alleluia, He is Risen!

We also hosted a neighborhood potluck lunch and egg hunt on Sunday.  A great collision of family and friends from church, neighborhood, playschool, etc!

Egg salad, of course:

And, a fleeting look at homemade matching bowties.  Someday they’ll wear them, right?

Then, on Monday, we had a treat.  We attended the White House Easter Egg Roll.  It certainly helps to have family with family working in the White House — thanks, Aunt Ceil and Colleen!

Waiting in many lines.

Family shot in front of a big, white building.  Is that Uncle Mark up there with the President’s Own Marine Corps Band?

Rolling eggs, toddler-style.

Making important speeches.

Meeting and greeting dignitaries.

A glimpse of our hosts from afar.

And, it’s not every day you get to wrestle on the South Lawn!
